We have mentioned Twitter a few times before. Most recently, we talked about live tweeting and how to do it. In this article, we are going to give you a few ways to engage your audience on Twitter. This will help you expand your followers which you can then parlay into more money in a variety of ways. If you have a business, this is an excellent way to passively advertise your product or service. No matter what your situation is, Twitter is a very simple tool that can be used to make a big difference.

Before we start, you should understand your goals and what you are trying to create. Stick to a theme if you can. Are you going to have an interesting Twitter account that spouts off interesting facts? Or are your going to have a funny account that people will share with their friends? If neither, you can also go the route of branding. Focus on talking directly with your customers through Twitter and you wll see an increase in customer loyalty to your business. Think about the identity that you would like to create and follow along as we give you a few ways to maximize the advantages of Twitter.

Ask Questions

Asking questions encourages the audience to respond and answer. This is a great way to increase involvement with your account. People become proud when they no the answer to a tough question and will not hesitate to reply with their answer.

Ask for Opinions

This is similar to asking questions except that this is going to be more of a poll type of answer. The great thing about this is that anyone can participate, not just those who know the answer. Keep these questions simple or better yet, ask for their either or opinions. What do I mean by that? Well, I will give you an example:

Dogs or Cats? Which are better?

The dog owners will run to support the dogs and the cat owners will run to support the cats. This is a great way to spark interaction with your followers. Hopefully, your followers will disagree and begin talking to each other. This would be the best case scenario and is best accomplished when the topic on hand is a bit controversial (but don’t go too far, you may loose some followers if you do).

Retweeting

Retweeting is basically tweeting some one else’e tweet. Twitter still gives credit to the original author so you won’t have to worry about possibly stealing content from anyone. You are fine as far as that goes. The best thing about retweeting is how quick and easy it is. If you have a good following base, they are easy to find as well. Just skim through good tweets and retweet them. This strategy is best for informational and funny accounts.

There are many ways in which you can increase your total conversions by using Twitter. It is a great tool to use and if you are not already taking advantage of it, I suggest you do as soon as possible.
